Challenge
To create a Flexible Learning Environment (FLE) from an existing set of rooms, through intelligent use of furniture and infrastructure.
Solution
The result has been an award winning set of spaces that are as popular with lecturers as they are with students. The rooms have served as prototype spaces for research into new learning pedagogy in the Knowledge Economy, and have informed many of the new types of learning environments being built across the campus. Their flexibility allows them to be used for active learning by groups as small as 10 up to groups as large as 120.
